Yves Rocher

Yves Rocher, present in more than 100 countries, must produce and rapidly distribute its Retail training materials. Initially created in French and then adapted for more than 100 markets, these contents require fast and reliable translation to support the global Retail network. Faced with increasing volumes and ever tighter deadlines, the brand chose to rely on SYSTRAN by ChapsVision, its AI-powered translation solution, to gain speed, autonomy, and consistency internationally.

At a glance

  • Yves Rocher needs to quickly translate Retail training materials for over 100 countries.
  • With SYSTRAN x ChapsVision, the team now manages translations internally without depending on external providers.
  • Contents are translated faster, costs are reduced, and terminology consistency is better controlled.

Context and challenges

The International Retail Training teams produce numerous materials for local markets, including presentations, training modules, and support documents. Created in French, these documents must be translated before being distributed in more than 100 countries.

Prior to SYSTRAN, translation relied either on very time-consuming internal work or on external services that needed to be planned and budgeted.

This setup also had an additional limitation: content could change between the time it was sent for translation and when the translated file was returned, sometimes requiring adjustments and increasing the risk of errors.

These constraints slowed content distribution and complicated the management of priorities and urgent requests. The team needed a solution that would:

  • improve responsiveness,
  • simplify workflows,
  • and ensure consistent quality across all translated content.

Choosing SYSTRAN by ChapsVision

To address these challenges, Yves Rocher selected the Systran Translate Private Cloud solution. The platform enabled the company to combine:

  • speed, thanks to instant translation,
  • flexibility, with direct integration into the Office suite,
  • autonomy, by internalizing most translation needs,
  • consistency, through dictionary and linguistic resource management.

The adopted setup is straightforward and effective: one administrator manages dictionaries, resource updates, and communication with technical support, while all other team members have standard user access allowing them to translate their documents independently.

Key features implemented

Instant translation in PowerPoint

Since most training materials produced for Retail teams are PowerPoint presentations, the Office extension has become a central tool. It allows large files to be translated in one click, without leaving the usual working environment.

Regular dictionary updates

To improve translation accuracy and quality, the team frequently updates its internal dictionary via the web interface. This significantly reduces proofreading time and increases reliability.

Flexibility via the web interface

For other file formats, the cloud interface allows documents to be processed quickly and smoothly, even when they are still in progress.

Results achieved

  • Significant time savings: The solution enables teams to work faster and more efficiently by eliminating delays associated with outsourcing or manual translation.
  • Reduced translation budget: By internalizing the bulk of translation work, Yves Rocher significantly reduced costs associated with external translation.
  • Greater flexibility: Translations can now be done at the last minute, such as the day before a presentation, offering new operational freedom.
  • Improved workflow control: By handling translation end-to-end, teams limit back-and-forth and reduce the risk of errors that could occur when documents evolve while awaiting translated versions.
  • Strengthened terminology consistency: Using internal dictionaries ensures that materials distributed in different markets rely on harmonized vocabulary aligned with brand standards.

Perspectives and developments

Considering the results achieved, Yves Rocher plans to further expand its use of advanced AI-enhanced translation. The team intends to add more language pairs and increase the number of users so that local teams can also benefit from the solution.
ChapsVision

This approach aims to harmonize translation practices across the Group and improve the overall efficiency of multilingual communication. The goal is also to demonstrate the benefits of the solution to other internal teams, paving the way for broader adoption and a potential centralized translation strategy in the long term, with more language options and strengthened collaboration between international markets.
