BPIFRANCE’s role is to support micro-enterprises, SMEs, and mid-sized companies in their development, ecological and energy transition, innovation, and international expansion projects. BPIFRANCE also aims to promote entrepreneurship across the entire French territory.
To fulfill these missions of public interest, the BPIFRANCE documentation department covers a very broad scope of monitoring: market developments, innovation and technological advances, regulations, long-term strategic trends (ecological transition, CSR, reindustrialization, etc.), geostrategy, digital, human resources, and more.
The documentation department was looking for a Market Intelligence platform to help automate the processing of a larger volume of data while gaining efficiency and relevance, and to offer customized monitoring.
This approach aims to better inform BPIFRANCE’s 3,500 employees—from those working directly with businesses in the field to top management, including cross-functional expert departments. The goal is to provide a 360° view of their business ecosystem to:
- support day-to-day decision-making;
- manage risks;
- anticipate key events.
BPIFRANCE deployed the Target by ChapsVision monitoring solution to optimize, automate, and scale up its monitoring power with a documentation team that remains stable in size:
- Automatic collection of a custom-built, highly relevant source corpus (web, social media, internal tools), enabling the processing of a much larger volume of information
- Automatic classification of data
- Noise and gap reduction, for a real-time 360° view of the ecosystem
- Emerging concept detection via a semantic analysis engine
- Sharing of monitoring outputs with customizable deliverables (monitoring newsletters, dashboards, expert monitoring)
- Recombination of monitoring sections as needed, to create tailor-made deliverables
The monitoring community
- 6 administrator analysts
- 9 subject-matter experts
- 1,300 internal subscribed readers (i.e. 1 in 3 employees)
- 2 subscribed external communities
- Improved relevance of information
- Time savings in information processing
- Expanded monitoring scope, also due to: faster setup of new monitors with 3 newsletters launched within 2 months, compared to only 2 per year previously
“I found the interface very intuitive compared to other campaign management tools used in large companies. Those were much more complex.”
Paul Barraqué-Curié
Head of the LaDOC Department, BPIFRANCE
“The many collaborative options will allow us to co-build monitoring projects with BPIFRANCE departments, involving their experts in the creation of monitoring processes and deliverables.”
Laurence Tassone
Manager of the Document Resources Domain, BPIFRANCE
